Emil Wikström (1864-1942) was a representative an supporter of traditionally national Finnish art. His position as the master of public sculpture in Finland has left other parts of his production relatively unfamiliar to general public.
Wikström's works have after his death seldom been exhibited. The exhibition of Emil WIkström's production at Gösta Serlachius Art museum in 2002 included 54 sculptures and reliefs as well as 20 medals.
