Welcome to Serlachius Museums in Mänttä! Here you will find some important information and useful tips to ensure your visit goes smoothly.
Both museums have separate parking areas. Parking spaces for the disabled are located close to the entrances of the museums. Charging station for electric cars is located at Gösta parking area P1. If the art museum’s parking spaces are full, you can leave your car along the Isonniementie-street and walk from there over the footbridge to the art museum yard. (See map below.) During the busy summer season, Art Museum Gösta’s parking area has parking staff to assist with parking.
Leave handbags in the lockers
Outerwear and handbags must be left in the cloakroom facilities. Lockers are also available for the use of visitors in both museums. The most convenient option, however, would be to leave large bags in your vehicle.
No pets can be brought inside the museums. The only exceptions are guide dogs.
Photography is permitted in both museums, without a flash, for private use. Sharing of images in social media is not considered to be private use.
Art Museum Gösta’s Pavilion is accessible, and the Manor is mostly accessible. Gustaf’s interior spaces are dimensioned to suit wheelchairs, and the exhibitions are designed to be multi-sensory.
The museums have wheelchairs, child pushchairs, folding chairs and other walking aids for visitors to borrow.
Gustaf Museum’s façade will be renovated from 3 Apr to 31 Nov 2017. The entrance of the museum has been equipped with a temporary ramp. People with impaired mobility need, however, assistance in order to be able to enter the building. We apologize for the inconvenience. Gösta’s Pavilion has induction loops in the main lobby, Kivijärvi Hall, exhibition spaces and the restaurant.
Bicycles, boats and Nordic walking poles
Bicycles, rowing boats and Nordic walking poles can be borrowed during the opening hours of the museums by showing an official identity card at Art Museum Gösta's ticket counter. Bicycles and Nordic walking poles also available at Museum Gustaf.
Restaurant services at the museums’ premises
Restaurant Gösta at Art museum serves wintertime 1 Sep–31 May from Tuesday to Sunday 11 am–6 pm (kitchen 11 am–4.30 pm), summertime every day. Table reservations should be made at the start of your museum visit or preferably in advance tel. +358 40 708 5572).
Café Autereen tupa at Art museum Gösta’s yard serves customers in summertime as café, in wintertime 1 Sep–31 May according to order for meetings or parties. From Autereen Tupa’s selection, you can also assemble a picnic basket of your choice and enjoy a savoury stroll through Gösta’s park. A small point of sale serves coffee and refreshments at Museum Gustaf.
