The object collection combines the small-town way of life in Mänttä and every day consumer goods, well-known to every Finn.
A special feature in the cultural historical object collection of the Serlachius Museums is range of product samples of the Finnish paper combine G.A.Serlachius Ltd.
The company manufactured paper and paperboard products in its mills in Mänttä, in its Kangas mills in Jyväskylä and its Tako mills in Tampere. They remind us of the well-known, but gradually and unnoticed disappearing every day consumer goods, like toilet tissue and kitchen rolls, other kitchen paper ware and napkins, of which the oldest date back to 1940s.
In addition to local paper products the object collections consists of the equipment used in their manufacture, office equipment and furniture as well as objects related to the sparetime activities of the inhabitants of Mänttä. Objects related to the Serlachiuses are in the central sphere of records.
The cultural historical collection of the Serlachius Museums will be accumulated advised according to the collections policy.
